Celebrate the Start of Summer

Wednesday, June 7th – Sunday, June 11th, 2017

How about 5 days of Fun! Thousands of people gather in Albertville each year to enjoy one of the areas funnest events. There’s something for all ages at Friendly City Days. For the sports fanatic there’s Softball, Volleyball, a Bean Bag Toss Tournament, 5K Run and a Youth Soccer Tournament.

Back again this year the Local Craft Beer Tasting will be on Thursday night. A Classic Car Show will be held again this year along with the Fire Department Open House.  Bingo, REMAX Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides, Book Bingo,  a Craft & Vendor Fair, and the Toddler Town will all take place on Saturday.

This year 32 Below, Tripwire, The Chad Edwards Band, Crankshaft & the Gear Grinders, Jack Knife & the Sharps, the Minnetonka Skippers, and George Jundt will play a variety of great music throughout the weekend. For the kids there will be a Carnival, Clowns, a Pedal Tractor Pull, a Parade, and of course Fireworks.

No great weekend is complete without Food. There will be a Pork Chop Dinner, a Spaghetti Dinner, Chinese, Greek and plenty of grilled food to choose from including all that fabulous fair food.

Friendly City Days is a great way to start the Summer. Albertville is a great place to meet your neighbors and reunite with old friends.

Family Activities

Midwest Rides brings in over 30 Carnival rides and games starting Thursday afternoon. Saturday is filled with entertainment for the kids. Some of the kids activities will include a Kiddie Parade, a Pedal Tractor Pull, Face painting, Root beer floats with the candidates, a kids entertainer, and the KRWC Radio Fun show and the Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday at 10 a.m. at City Hall.

Sport Activities

A bean bag tournament takes place near the softball fields on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. All weekend there’s a 22 team Mens Slowpitch Softball Tournament featuring some of the state’s top teams. There is also Co-Ed, Mens, and Womens Volleyball Tournaments featuring the areas top teams. Saturday, the annual 5k run attracts over 250 participants of all ages.

Food and Entertainment

The event features Fireworks, a Pork Chop Dinner, a Spaghetti Dinner, and plenty of Food stands. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening includes live music and, new last year, Craft Beer Sampling on Thursday night.
